About the Book:

Ink on paper is the finest from the pen of a 13-year-old girl. The book is a perfect read for any time. It is a blend of emotions set in rhyme. There is something for everyone. Each chapter begins with a short story, setting the entire aura, and then, presents the poem.

Question peoples presence with “Where were you then.”

Mourn with solder’s poor choice in life with “Regret in wars.”

Deal with heartbreaks and realize she moved on with “Happier.”

Each poem is a journey through the best and the worst of Vishikha. Won’t you join her for one?

“Played by the fools of sham,

To find true people, there were none.

I did say everyone is wearing a mask,

But I never said they were wearing only one.”

About the Author:

Vishikha, the teen poet, was born in the small town of Kanpur, Uttar pradesh, India. She found an interest in poetry at an early age. Still in School, she started as an Instagram poet on the Instagram page @unlockme16 and visits open mics when she gets the chance. Writing was an outlet for her to begin expressing herself, The decision of writing a book came to her mind at the age of 13. She is currently studying in DPS, Panvel, which she says is an amazing school and is what made her a poet. Ink on paper is her first book.

My take on the book:

Well, when I first saw a ‘Contact from Blog’ for a book review mail in my inbox from a young author called Vishikha, I knew I had to get connected to her and I’m so glad I did! Even when I had read the only first couple of poems, I had a strong feeling that I would like this collection. Vishikha is an incredible writer and I could relate myself to so many poems in the book. I feel there is something for everyone in the book. What makes this poetry different from others in this genre is that each chapter actually starts with a short story that sets the user into a cozy mood and then presents the poem which according to me is a very smart move.

Having said that, few of the poems had repetitive content in the story and the poem(More or less like reading the story is enough to know what the poem is like, instead of having the poem as an extension to the story). Also, few grammatical mistakes were a big turn off to me because of which I would lose interest sometimes!. But ‘ink on paper’ as a whole will always have a special place in my heart because it’s written by a 13-year-old young and brilliant girl. This book needs more attention and support for the diverse content in it and I thank the author for this wonderful review copy! Also, best wishes for her upcoming endeavors !
